Sugar and Spice

Old Naama Mall

Sugar and spice and all things nice, that’s what little girls are made of. It’s also the nom de cuisine of Messrs Marcus and Rolands new Bistro style restaurant which is hidden away incongruously in the Old Souk, Naama Bay. Be warned : requiring a vertical climb up three floors, the roof terrace is not for the faint hearted. We went sub-terrainean for a quick lunch-time bite of Rosti, their Swiss potato thing with whatever you like in the cute little Bistro downstairs. The food was good, the price a little high, and the Sacher tart was delicious. The staff seemed to be a little confused about the whole restaurant idea, but that’s Sharm. They have their own bakery bit where Mr. Marcus toils through the night to prepare not only the sweets but also various styles of continental bread. Unfortunately the cappuccino, advertised as excellent, is definitely not. I’ll be going back though. The fondue is calling, and maybe a bit of that Gugelhopf for desert with a nice Nescafe.
