Also known as Rockin' Robin or sometimes Throbbin' Robin, Robin Pritchard (lead guitar, lead vocal) has been attempting to play the guitar for some 33 years. One day soon he hopes to start getting it right.

Born in the back seat of a Greyhound bus travelling down route 66, he began playing live almost as soon as he could talk, although being a slow developer this was at the age of seventeen. He spent his formative music years listening to a powerhouse blend of B.B. King, Deep Purple, Free, Thin Lizzy, Eric Clapton, ACDC and Motorhead - which accounts for a lot.

Extensive experience touring the UK and Europe in several bands led him finally to seek a different way of life. As a result he qualified as a diving instructor in Dec. 2001. The gods of music, not content to let him escape however, caught up with him again where he was trying to hide from them in Cyprus, and once more caused him to pick up a guitar. Through various adventures he landed in Sharm el Sheikh, and became a founder member of 'On The Rocks', the Sinai's only live band, in 2006.

Robin's mission on this planet is simple; to bring live music to the deprived masses...to drive out the scourge of computer generated, bass drum-on-every-beat, catatonia inducing, ready mixed, moronic drug hazed house 'music'. Oh, and have some fun at the same time, and hopefully sweat a lot in doing so.

Robin plays a Fender Stratocaster 1950's reissue guitar and a Fender Squire Telecaster for slide work ( you just can't beat that Fender tone, man). His main sound is provided by a devilishly clever Carl Martin distortion pedal, with occasional embellishment through a Morley wah-wah pedal.

It's not all rock and blues these days though. Robin also loves to play acoustic and can be found regularly plucking at his Takamine Jasmine guitar, playing and singing a selection of favourites, as well as a few surprises.
Blues rock is where his heart lies though, and this is what drives On The Rocks, and Robin himself, forward.
